About IACIS

The International Association of Colloid and Interface Scientists was founded in 1979 and is a voluntary, non-profit organisation of individuals who are actively interested in the field of colloid and interface science.

The objectives of the Association are to promote international cooperation among colloid and interface scientists and to encourage advancement and understanding in the field. These objectives are achieved through the IACIS conferences held every three years, organized all over the world by active members of IACIS. For a complete list, see www.iacis.nl. In addition, contact between the members is maintained by means of the IACIS Newsletter, distributed by email every 2 – 3 months.

At the moment IACIS has about 550 members in 45 countries spread over all continents. A significant part of them attends the triannual IACIS Conferences, accompanied by people from their research groups. Apart from them, many other researchers both from academia and industry visit the IACIS Conferences.
